Town Hall offices are now operational in satellite locations. The discovery of failed beams in Town Hall prompted a rapid evacuation from the building. Through an amazing amount of cooperation, most departments were operational within 24 hours of the order to vacate. This is a tribute to our staff and to the hours we have spent in training for emergency preparedness. There are far too many people involved to thank individually, but special recognition goes to the Technology Department that was tasked with tying in computers and phones at new locations, and Captain Steve
Ducharme of the Fire Department who has actively helped offices relocate in the Rogers Fire Station by doing temporary wiring.
We recognize the fact that office relocation will provide a hardship for the public as we can temporarily not offer one stop service. We are diligently reviewing our options and will be providing the Board of Selectmen with a report on Tuesday evening.
We appreciate the support that we have heard from our citizens and appreciate everyone’s patience as we attempt to solve this problem.
