Finance Committee Recommendation


	The Finance Committee voted on Thursday, June 4, 2009 not to recommend Article 1 (petition article regarding Boston Rd) to the June 18, 2009 Special Town Meeting. We reviewed the financial implications of putting the land permanently into conservation and concluded that the lost opportunity cost of other non-conservation uses for the parcel was significant enough not to support this article. We also considered the fact that the town has a mandate and will to provide more affordable housing and currently has a firm proposal to explore affordable housing on part of this land.
