Hazardous Tree Mitigation Program, National Grid
Issue: National Grid would like to undertake a tree cutting and pruning program on Boston Road and Main Street to the Chelmsford line. Representatives of National Grid will be present to describe their plan.

Farmer’s Market Update
Issue: When the Farmer’s Market was approved on the Town Common, the Selectmen requested that on August 28th the project be reviewed. The Town Manager has requested reports from the Park and Recreation Department as well as the Police Department. It is the Town Manager’s observation that the Market has been successful, although it has caused traffic congestion on Lincoln and Main Streets and that pedestrians are not using the crosswalks to access the Common.

Review of Permanent Town Building Committee Draft Policy
Issue: The Permanent Town Building Committee has drafted a policy document to better define their responsibilities. The Board of Selectmen has been asked to give input into the policy. The Town Manager’s comments are in the Board’s packet.

Reconfiguration of Staff Support for Permitting Boards
Issue: The Town Manager’s office has been looking at ways to provide better staff support to boards that are particularly involved in 40 B’s and affordable housing. The Town Manager will present a plan that will reorganize Permitting staff by utilizing a partnership between the Westford and Chelmsford Housing Authorities that will allow technical support on affordable housing projects to the ZBA, Affordable Housing Committee, Affordable Housing Trust Fund and Planning Board.
