FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 4, 2010 – Optimus, Inc. d/b/a Marky’s, Miami, FL is announcing the voluntary recall of Eugenio Brezzi Truffle Puree products imported from Italy. Consumers in possession of any of these products should return it for a full refund to the retail outlet where it was purchased.

The truffle puree products have been deemed underprocessed due to a defect found in the manufacturing process of the puree. Because of this problem, there is a possibility that the products could be contaminated with microorganisms or other harmful substances. While no illness have been reported, there is a possible risk for serious adverse health consequences, such as gastrointestinal disease, from consumption of these products.
The truffle puree products were distributed between the period of February 2009 – July 2010 to outlets in the following locations: AR, AK, CA, FL, KY, LA, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NM, NY, NC, RI, TX, TN, and VA.
