February 25, 2010 Thumb Oilseed Producers Cooperative of Ubly, MI. has recalled certain shipments of soybean grits and flour because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.
The recalled soybean grits and flour were distributed to a limited group of wholesale customers located around the nation.
The product is labeled with Soy Beginnings or Nexsoy brands; packaged in 40# paper bags. Feed is packaged in 1500# totes. (Lot numbers include TF121608 through TF012210, TG121608 through TG010510).
The recall resulted from routine sampling programs conducted by the company and its wholesale customers.
The recall does not involve soy oil products produced by Thumb Oilseed.

Oregon Oyster Farms, Inc. is issuing a product recall involving oyster meat and oysters in the shell harvested in Yaquina Bay, Newport, Oregon from February 1 to 24, 2010.
Yaquina Bay oysters were distributed to individual restaurants in New York City, Boston, Texas, Mississippi, and Virginia. Two wholesale distribution accounts are located in New York and Boston.
This recall has been initiated due to potential norovirus contamination. Consumption of these products may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, malaise, abdominal pain, headache and fever.
Consumers who have purchased Yaquina Bay oysters are encouraged to discard any remaining product. A recall sign has been posted at the company s retail store. Consumers may contact Liu Xin or Marcie Dodson at (541) 265-2401.
