As a result of laboratory testing obtained early this afternoon, the Westford Board of Health (BOH) has had to close both Edwards Beach and Lakeside Meadows Beach due to unacceptable levels of bacteria (see attached beach results).  The BOH has posted CLOSED signs at both beaches and has taken & delivered additional samples (in duplicate) to the testing laboratory.  The results of the re-sampling are expected back from the laboratory by late tomorrow afternoon.  The beaches must remain closed until subsequent testing deems the water within acceptable limits (again, as confirmed by the laboratory).  

A re-opening notice will be sent via this notification system and it will also be posted on the BOH web page under Beach Testing.  Should you have any questions or concerns, please call the Health Department.
