The Board of Health is responsible for protecting the public health of the community by adopting relevant local health regulations and by carrying out preventative programs. The Board oversees the activities of the Director of Environmental Services, the Director of Health Care Services, and has responsibility for enforcing the State health, sanitary and environmental codes. The Board is made up of five elected Board members who serve for three year terms. Generally the Board of Health meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the 2nd Floor Meeting Room at Town Hall
located at 55 Main Street. Please note: due to occasional holidays, rescheduling may be required.

Please be advised that because of office space limitations the Board of Health / Health Department is required to store the majority of it's files in the basement of Town Hall. To ensure adequate office counter & telephone coverage, files are ONLY retrieved twice per day, at approximately 10 AM and 2 PM.
Please call the office at (978) 692-5509 a day (or two) ahead of time so we may have adequate time to obtain your file.
