7th Grader Vaccine Clinic
To better protect our children against vaccine preventable diseases, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Education has updated the regulations governing the immunization requirements of students entering the 7th Grade.  

The immunization requirements for entrance to grade 7 are as follows:
       
        Hepatitis B-  3 doses
        Tetanus (Td) or (Tdap) - booster if last dose was prior to 8-30-05
        Polio- 3 doses
        MMR- 2 doses
        Varicella (chicken pox)- Physician documentation of the disease OR proof of
                       immunization.  If the child is under 13 yrs old, then 1 dose is required,
                       if the child is over 13 yrs old, then 2 doses are required.

To assist parents in obtaining these necessary vaccines, the Westford Board of Health, in cooperation with the Westford School Dept., will offer a free immunization clinic.
