IMPORTANT STATE PRIMARY INFORMATION
STATE PRIMARY: Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Polls will be open from 7:00am until 8:00pm
Deadline for new voter registrations and registration changes for this election: Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 8:00pm The Town Clerk's Office located at 23 Depot Street (behind Abbot School) will be open until 8:00pm on this day.
There are currently three political parties in Massachusetts, all holding primaries on September 14th: Democrat, Libertarian and Republican. Unenrolled voters may choose their preferred ballot and will remain Unenrolled. Primaries are not held for political designations.
In person: You may register to vote in any city or town clerk's office in the Commonwealth by the August 25th deadline and your registration will be forwarded to your resident town.
By mail: Mail your mail-in voter registration form to 55 Main Street, Westford, MA 01886, but it must be post marked by August 25th to count for the state primary.
17 year olds: If you will be 18 on or before September 14th, you may register to vote now, but must do so by the August 25th deadline in order to vote on September 14th.
New citizens: If you become a US citizen between August 25th and September 13th, you are specially qualified to register to vote after the August 25th deadline, but must do so before 4:00pm on September 13th.
Absentee ballots: Absentee ballots for this election are now available. An original request is needed from the voter or family member in order for the voter to be mailed a ballot. Voters may also complete the application and voting process at the Town Clerk's office. |
