Westford Cultural Council Free Family Fun Festival on the Common July 3, 2010


	Bring the family and a picnic lunch to Westford’s Town Common on Saturday, July 3. The common will be transformed into a Family Festival of music and games. Local band, Boston Road, will play blue grass favorites and other music. “Mrs. Junkbox,” aka Westford resident Emily Piper will engage children with crafts using recycled materials. Cultural Council volunteers will lead children’s games and paint their shining faces. Westford fire fighters will welcome children to climb on a fire truck at the fire station. The fun runs from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Spread a blanket on the grass, open your picnic basket, and enjoy a traditional New England summer afternoon. The Westford Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences, and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.
