Special State Election on October 16th
On Tuesday, October 16, 2007, voters will be deciding who will represent the 5th Congressional District for the unexpired term of former Congressman now Chancellor of UMASS Lowell, Marty Meehan. Polls will be open from 7:00am until 8:00pm.
Precinct Information
Voting precincts remain as follows: Precincts 1 & 3: Abbot School (25 Depot St), Precinct 2: Blanchard School (14 West St), Precinct 4: Robinson School (60 Concord Rd), Precinct 5: Stony Brook School (7 Farmer Way); Precinct 6: Miller School (1 Mitchell Way).
Absentee Ballots are now available
If you will be out of town or are unable to get to the polls on election day, you may vote by absentee ballot. You need to apply in writing in person or by mail and we will mail an absentee ballot to you or family member; you may also vote at the counter at that time. Absentee ballot applications are available at the Town Clerk's Office, Library and may be downloaded from the Secretary of State's website at http://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleifv/howabs.htm. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for the October 16th election is noon on Monday, October 15th.
Special Town Meeting voter registration deadline
The voter registration deadline for the October 22nd Special Town Meeting is 8:00pm on Friday, October 12th. The Special Town Meeting Warrant is now available online.
September curbside pickup of Nonburnable items FRIDAY, October 20th
The next curbside pickup for large nonburnable items (i.e., appliances, metal furniture, etc.) is scheduled for Saturday, October 20th. A $30 sticker is required per item from the Town Clerk’s Office. The deadline for the October pickup is NOON on Friday, October 19th. Check the Recycling Commission's website at westfordrecycles.org for other options.
